Video for Funeral Directors / Funeral Arrangers

Informing families of the automatic life insurance available in the deceased's super fund (eg. AustralianSuper)

AFRM Claims Advocacy make it quicker and easier for your families to receive their loved ones life insurance claim payment (including the superannuation balance).

It is likely that the deceased has unclaimed life insurance in their super fund (Cbus, AustralianSuper, etc).

The availability of life insurance applies to all families where the deceased is of working age (under the age of 65).

Below is a short video (approx 10 min)  for funeral directors / funeral arrangers that explains how you can inform families of the automatic life insurance policy within the deceased's super fund.

Script for Funeral Arrangers - What to say to the family? When to give them the flyer?

Most funeral arrangers choose to have the conversation with the family, at one of the early appointments, after the funeral quote / service fee is discussed.  Below is an example of the conversation a funeral arranger could have.

  1. Personal Conversation from Funeral Arranger

Suggested conversation – “Do you know if <insert deceased’s name> had a superannuation fund?

<insert deceased’s name> may have unclaimed life insurance in their super fund, which you may be entitled to.

We have a flyer with some more detail – would this be of interest?”

2.  Funeral Arranger gives the flyer to the family member

No more for the funeral arrangers to do.

If you would like more copies of our flyers for your families - please email aca@afrm.com.au or call Bruno on 1300 013 328
